Ruth F. Stevens and Stage Seven

Author Ruth F. Stevens with her novel Stage Seven paired with a Cosmopolitan made with SKYY vodka

About the Book: In this debut novel, a sweet but uptight single mom falls for an older man at a memory care facility where her mother—and his wife—are patients. Funny, sad, and heartwarming, Stage Seven is about two people caught between love and duty, and the risks we take when we commit our hearts to family, friends, and lovers alike.

About the Beverage: Ruth recommends pairing her novel with a Cosmopolitan (“”Cosmo”) made with SKYY vodka because “Barbara, the narrator of Stage Seven, is a sandwich generation mom, brilliant at managing her life with lists and spreadsheets. Lately, though, the demands of a teenage daughter, a manipulative sister, and a mother with Alzheimer’s are more than she can handle. To escape the stress, Barbara likes to drink cosmopolitans with her friends and pretend they are like the sophisticated, cosmo-sipping quartet of Manhattan women from the Sex and the City TV series.”

About the Author: Ruth F. Stevens believes in stories that make you laugh and cry. A former public relations executive in New York and Los Angeles, she is a produced playwright and author of Stage Seven. Ruth lives in sunny California with her husband and enjoys travel, hiking, hip-hop, Broadway musicals, wine tasting, and visiting her grandsons. Her second novel, My Year of Casual Acquaintances, will launch in late 2023.

STAGE SEVEN is available in paperback, e-book, and audiobook from major online booksellers.
